Leon Rippy was born in Charlotte, N.C. He ran away from his home when he was 15 years old and his parents were unable to find him for several months. He was interested in acting from childhood and acted in some school and college plays during his studies.
This interest in acting helped him to start doing theatre work afterwards. He started earning with the N.C.’s ‘The Lost Colony’ where he used to get $25 weekly for the acting assignment. He had also worked in ‘Hansel and Gretel’ prior to this and it was his first experience in acting in a theatre. He indulged himself in founding and operating two theater companies and also attained much respect as a Ballet dancer. He can even play Guitar and the spoons with equal ease. Apart from this, he has worked for circus and then worked for cattle insemination. He has also been the peddler of the hand-made hippie things.
Now he lives with his wife Carole in Van Nuys, California. He has two children, Stacie and Amos. He has 3 cats, one dog and one fish. He loves to ride and his favorite horse is Tennessee Walker.
As a film actor he has worked in seven movies of Ronald Emmerich which are: ‘Moon 44′ (1990), ‘Eyes Of The Storm’ (1991), ‘Universal Soldier‘ (1992), ‘Stargate‘ (1994), ‘The Thirteenth Floor‘ (1999), ‘The Patriot’ (2000) and ‘Eight Legged Freaks’ (2002). He also worked in a drama series ‘Deadwood‘. He was nominated in the Screen Actors Guild Awards for the category of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series for ‘Deadwood’.

Leon Rippy plays the role of “Earl” in ‘Saving Grace’. He is the last-chance angel, visiting Grace. He is simple, unpretentious and down to earth. He loves to chew tobacco and collect T-Shirts during his many global haunts.
