A little about Grace…….
Saturday, August 30th, 2008I don’t think, there will be anybody who disagrees with me. Grace is amazing and Holly Hunter has done justice with the character. She suits perfectly in this role. She has a dazzling appearance, which makes her most suitable to the role. I must compliment the producer’s choice for the same. She has such a perfect look that she seems tough when is in action as a cop, and gorgeous when she is having her bold, one night stands and is dating Ham. Besides this she has portrayed a drunkard in a natural manner. Her acting is so lively that it appears like she is really enjoying doing Grace.
I first saw her on internet on the posters of saving Grace and I was impressed of her beauty but had a doubt upon her role that whether a girl with delicate looks would be able to do justice with role of a cop? But all my doubts got cleared, when she appeared in the pilot episode, drinking and sleeping with various men and finally hitting somebody with her car in drunkard state.
I enjoyed her facial expressions the most in the scenes, where she encounters Earl, the Angel of the show, who wants to guide her to the right path in her life, so that she could resist the punishment for her sins. At first she is not ready to accept the presence of an angel in her life as she was drunk when she met him for the first time. But later on she compromises with this reality. She gets on her wits when Earl tries to get her attention by means of Clay and Leon Cooley, another person who sees Earl.
Grace is shown as such a moody and stubborn girl that even when Clay confronts her for her affair with Ham, she has no regret of it and continues her relationship with him. Nonetheless, she is aware of Earl’s presence, still she is not ready to change her life style for anybody. For her drinking habits she once faces an enquiry too.
I really loved her character living a reckless life on her own terms and despite all this she proves to be a brilliant investigator.
