We Are Our Own Saviours

Monday, June 8th, 2009

If you are wondering, how I am came across the idea mentioned in the title, then let me inform you that Saving Grace, a detective TV show instilled this emotion inside my consciousness. Being a regular viewer and ardent fan of Saving Grace, I had a burning urge of giving vent my feelings and hence I decided to share my views with you.

Grace, the main lead in the show, Saving Grace is a lady detective. In spite of being a good person at heart, she indulges in acts of self destruction, from time to time. One such incident occurs, when after one of her drinking sprees, she ends up running her car over a pedestrian.

Being shocked by this accident, she pleads to god for help. She then sees a disheveled, tobacco-spitting man named Earl, who turns out to be an angel and offers her a new lease of life but only on the condition that she commits to a major changeover in her attitude. She agrees and temporarily her woes are resolved.

Just like Grace’s character we as mortal beings tend to fall prey to our own follies and look at others for help. For many such incidents in our life, the wonderful TV show, Saving Grace acts as a great guide.

Though, in the show Grace is being guided by an angel who keeps up his efforts of leading her to the right path, but if we analyze it deeply we can infer that it is in fact her consciousness that is guiding her. So Saving Grace in some way teaches us that whenever we take a decision we must look into our consciousness to see whether it’s right or wrong. Our consciousness will definitely guide us and prevent us from taking decisions that we might regret later.

Saving Grace is definitely a new approach towards producing detective TV shows. It has successfully finished two seasons and the next season is gonna kick start by mid of June. Hope this time around Grace is more circumspect and follows the angel’s instructions.

Thursday, September 11th, 2008

Hi.. Saving Grace Fans!

I know, you’ll be feeling very good as now it has been officially confirmed that ‘Saving Grace’ will be back in the beginning of 2009. Have a sigh of relief…..I know, how hard it’s to wait for our favorite ‘Saving Grace’ episodes, but as we’re unable to do anything else so just keep on waiting and have a heart!

Before, Saving Grace comes with some more episode, why not let’s review the previous episodes of series. Well, I’ve stared doing, just in order to cut off my wait. Yesterday, I download ‘Are You an Indian Princess’ from here and watched it for third time. I first watched it when it was aired on August 18, 08. After watching it yesterday, it’s not possible for me to stop myself from writing a review so I am here to do so.

We see that Grace and the team are called to investigate the murder of a woman. The woman is savagely murdered and her son goes on missing. The only one suspect in this case is her ex-husband. The boy is seen in the hospital with burns on his body and the investigation team must find out whether or not , boy’s father is involved in the case. We also see that Ham’s brother dies and his death may affect his job as a detective.

I loved this episode and was really a great episode. Ah! I can’t wait to see more and am desperately looking to watch what’s next. Oh! But it’s a bitter truth that the series is on hiatus and we’ll have to wait till March 2009 in order to have new episodes of ‘Saving Grace.

Series will be back with new episodes and I hope, we’ll see some new faces this times. Who you expect to see on ‘Saving Grace’ this season… well, I think Britney is the best choice… what you have to say??

Saving Grace will be back!

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Every ‘Saving Grace’ freak must be feeling devastated due to early good bye by the show in the mid-way of season two. Well, I can’t soothe your hearts completely, but yes can comfort a little by informing you that rest of the episodes of second season will start airing from March 2009. I told you in the beginning guys, that it’s just a little comfort, as, a long wait is ahead.

Nevermind, the terrific show like ‘Saving Grace’ deserves a little wait. I know this little wait is six months long, but can’t help it. But yea, I’ve found a substitute, and you can also try the same. I am here to enjoy the previous episodes which have been aired. Today I downloaded first five episodes of Season One. The entire season is a perfect entertainer. You know, although this is a crime drama, but humor has been clustered in a perfect way. I found the initial episodes as the funniest of all. In these episodes the concept of an angel has been introduced in a serious kind of way but still I couldn’t stop myself from laughing.
The reason was that I was thinking it as a serious type of crime drama and was expecting a bloodshed, which I found as well, along with the pretty serious kind of office proceedings like other crime dramas. But I must appreciate this different flavor added to the story that a cop encounters an angel who wants to show her the right path, and only she and another person Leon Cooley can see him. This show is different than the other crime dramas and I think this is the only reason of its success.

This story revolves around a single cop and doesn’t concentrate much upon all the cops of the squad. Rest of the concentration is upon the crime cases and getting them solved in the end of the episode. The angel Earl has been introduced just to lighten up the environment of the show after hustle tussle with the criminals.

On the other hand, the creators have tried to convey the divine message of becoming a good human being. As in the very first episode, Earl tells Grace that she is heading to hell due to her malpractices in her personal life.

A little about Grace…….

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

I don’t think, there will be anybody who disagrees with me. Grace is amazing and Holly Hunter has done justice with the character. She suits perfectly in this role. She has a dazzling appearance, which makes her most suitable to the role. I must compliment the producer’s choice for the same. She has such a perfect look that she seems tough when is in action as a cop, and gorgeous when she is having her bold, one night stands and is dating Ham. Besides this she has portrayed a drunkard in a natural manner. Her acting is so lively that it appears like she is really enjoying doing Grace.

I first saw her on internet on the posters of saving Grace and I was impressed of her beauty but had a doubt upon her role that whether a girl with delicate looks would be able to do justice with role of a cop? But all my doubts got cleared, when she appeared in the pilot episode, drinking and sleeping with various men and finally hitting somebody with her car in drunkard state.
I enjoyed her facial expressions the most in the scenes, where she encounters Earl, the Angel of the show, who wants to guide her to the right path in her life, so that she could resist the punishment for her sins. At first she is not ready to accept the presence of an angel in her life as she was drunk when she met him for the first time. But later on she compromises with this reality. She gets on her wits when Earl tries to get her attention by means of Clay and Leon Cooley, another person who sees Earl.

Grace is shown as such a moody and stubborn girl that even when Clay confronts her for her affair with Ham, she has no regret of it and continues her relationship with him. Nonetheless, she is aware of Earl’s presence, still she is not ready to change her life style for anybody. For her drinking habits she once faces an enquiry too.
I really loved her character living a reckless life on her own terms and despite all this she proves to be a brilliant investigator.

Watch Saving Grace episodes for free

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

I know that DVDs of Saving Grace have entered the market, but still I would like to suggest you an easy and convenient way of enjoying the episodes of ‘Saving Grace’. Download that from here, and you need not to go to market and buy a DVD. I have genuine reasons behind this advice. After watching DVD twice, (one purchases a DVD to watch repeatedly), finally you are gonna end up with a scratched DVD. Moreover you will spend all of your pocket money you’ve saved throughout the week. On the contrary downloading is absolutely free and would take a few minutes and won’t empty up your pockets.

Now it’s better to save your pocket money for something constructive. Here you will get any episode conveniently, without a long searching process. You needn’t to go through a bunch of questions about your network or windows type, to face any ad ware. Above all, your system will be absolutely safe after downloading without any virus threat and in a legal way.
These guys have kept it hassle free because we know it’s hard to resist shows like ‘Saving Grace’ and thus no need to take a break and keep on watching. I am professing about the site, because I have experienced the wonderful picture and sound quality over here while watching ‘Saving Grace’ episodes.
First of all I went through the season summary and finally clicked on episode name and I was sorted. Its good watching a TV show without any break in between the show, secondly you need not to wait for a week to watch the next episode.

Saving Grace is terribly good show, I loved the character of Grace. How rash she is in her life style. The funny thing is that she knows an angel is keeping an eye on her still this doesn’t affect her way of living. Both the seasons are quite happening. The chunks about her personal life problems are an additional treat in this kind of crime drama. I just love the show, and I am desperately waiting for the remaining episodes of the second season as well as I am expecting the third season and I hope the creators must be thinking over this.

The season One- Review

Saturday, August 30th, 2008

Saving Grace is a rocking show and I have started missing it, though it has just been four days that it gone. But the news that it will not appear on next Monday is pretty striking for me. It’s gonna take six months for the come back. So I found the way to kill the time. I came here and watched the first season once again. You know the first five as well as the last one of the season are very well filmed and well written episodes.

In the pilot episode, Grace is introduced as a lady cop from the Oklahoma squad, who is a brilliant at investigation but in her personal life, she’s like a tom boy. She drinks heavily and one night stands are pretty normal thing for her, despite a love affair with a fellow officer, who is married as well. She doesn’t regret of this life style rather she’s happy with her life like this. But suddenly a shabby kind of person, chewing tobacco, appears in front of her, after she hits a man with her car and prays for help, he tells her that she is on the way to hell and should make modifications in her life style to prevent herself from the same. In the first two episodes she doesn’t take this incident seriously but steadily starts believing that here is an angel inspecting her all the time. She shares this secret with her best friend Rhetta as well as with her brother but everybody makes fun of her for these illusions.

In the second episode, her boy friend cum fellow officer, Ham, learns that she had a romantic past with another colleague Butch Ada and it disturbs their relationship. In the same episode she is seen solving a murder case of a man. In the third episode of season, she has to solve the mystery of killing of a manager of a sleazy motel. It’s here that Grace gives her acceptance to the presence of an Angel in her life. Throughout the rest of the season, she is busy with solving murder mysteries and in the finale episode she encounters the person who molested her in her childhood. Check out this season and you won’t regret it.
