Episode 1

Have a Seat, Earl

Grace meets Rhetta in quite a buoyant mood, as Rhetta enquires about Grace’s strategy regarding Father Patrick Murphy. Grace glances at a man across the street who is trying to steal a car by hitting the driver. Grace responds by shouting out and taking out her gun, then proceeding to chase the thief while Rhetta calls for the back up.

The car thief manages to run away and Grace briefs the backup when it comes with the K-9 attack dog, Riley who is let off to trail the culprit. When the man is surrounded by the police cars he jumps off the bridge, and so does Riley, following him and hurting himself in the process.

Everyone at the animal hospital is in all praise for Grace, who had helped closing in on the man who was the number sixth in the FBI’s most wanted criminal list. Grace then meets up the press giving Riley all the credit.

The celebration for Grace is short-lived at the precinct as Detective Brad Gholston from the Internal Affairs comes in to announce that Grace has been suspended as she has been indicted of getting drunk and firing her gun, hurting many people. Grace refutes all charges and agrees for a blood alcohol test.

Grace comes in, consumes some drinks and then opens up the rug covering Father Murphy to coerce him to eat ice cream sundaes and watch miracle on 34th Street.
He attempts to convince her to leave him in name of God and for Earl, who is absent at the moment.

Deanne Well, the person who had thrown allegations on Grace is cross examined by Butch and Ham, who seem not to believe a word of hers. The whole case has hurt all the people close to Grace.

Father Murphy is tied to a chair. Gus is barking at a piece of meat Grace placed on his crotch. Grace encourages Gus. The dog grabs the meat, scaring the priest. She laughs. He prays and she gives him a lap dance.

Johnny briefs Rhetta about the complaint Amy’s father, Mr. William had made against Father Murphy. Then the two have a talk about Earl and Johnny’s views about miracles.

Grace dreams about killing the priest and Earl suddenly disappearing before the act. She then, all smeared in blood goes to precinct to confess her crime, and then is in a muddle when everyone applauds her and even arranging a parade for her.

Grace jolts up, disappointed to see the Father alive and then hits him on his face.

Then she takes the priest to precinct, narrating him the charges against him, including the confession to her. Everyone is taken up by surprise. Rhetta asks Ham to stand up by Grace.

Grace gives the District Attorney a briefing on the crimes committed by her onto others, including her but the D.A. tells her that the church’s attorneys have renounced the confession and the Father would have to let off till two more witnesses are not found. Kate tells Grace the news that she had been cleared from the Internal Affairs investigation but she wants Grace to talk to Deanne and know the truth, regarding why she lodged a false complaint. Rhetta is happy that Grace did not kill the priest, while Ham shows full faith and support in Grace.

Subsequently, Ham establishes contact with Special Agent Ross Ford who denies vehemently that the Father had sodomized him. Bobby and Butch have a chat with Mr. Williams who tells them that Amy had written all this in her journal before shooting herself up with the help of his shotgun.

At the precinct, no one is able to read or talk about Grace’s statement against Father Murphy but Bobby, Ham and Butch do discuss about Riley and his health. Kate then comes up to break the news that the priest has been found murdered.

The whole team of detectives surround the dead body for due inspection while Grace in a very gay mood, heartily denies killing the priest. She then sees the place around and instantly recalls the place where the Father would take her for ice cream sundae. Butch chips in that Amy too had mentioned the same thing in the journal she wrote. Grace then demands the case from Kate, kicking the dead body’s dead hand.

Grace talks up with Mr. Williams and Special Agent Ross is sticking on his denial about Father Murphy molesting him. Grace easily figures out he is lying and asks him to move out of the town.

So Grace concludes that everyone suspected in the case has a sound alibi. Butch stands by her and in solitude, Ham and Grace have a passionate kiss. Then Grace catches up Deanne for dinner who tells her that it was Grace who was responsible for the death of her sister, Mary Francis, Deanne’s friend who had died in the Oklahoma City bombing.

Grace’s mother visits her and she confides with her that the Priest was a pedophile but her mother believes that the priest was always nice with her children. There are news flashes that Riley has finally been saved and is recovering well. Everyone cheers up for the dog, while Grace blows her horns in jubilation.

Ham and Grace have a talk with Special Agent Ross’ fiancé who claims that Ross had given a bath to her eleven year old daughter. The forces reach up to Ross’ house to capture him but he killed himself with a gun.

Grace’s mood is dimmed and she comes home, where she is comforted by Earl while she weeps.
